99 Nights in the Forest Tier List – All Classes Ranked

S Tier – Meta Picks

Cyborg (900 Diamonds) is the undisputed best class. You spawn with Alien Armor and a Laser Cannon — letting you tank hits and shred enemies from the start. Infinite ammo generation makes it consistent across every night. Worth every Diamond.

Assassin (1,200 Diamonds) is the top damage dealer. You start with 120 throwing knives and a higher chest-loot chance for more ammo. Best for experienced players who can capitalize on burst damage to clear cultist caves fast.

Necromancer (600 Diamonds) is a late-game powerhouse. Revive defeated cultists as undead soldiers who absorb damage for you. Early nights are rough, but by mid-game your undead army dominates invasions. Level 3 adds permanent night vision — a huge bonus.

A Tier – Excellent Value

Alien (300 Diamonds) is Cyborg’s budget sibling. The Raygun fires fast, and Level 3 grants a sprint boost when alien tech is charged. Great value pick for players who can’t afford Cyborg yet.

Big Game Hunter (500 Diamonds) shines on long runs. Eating animal pelts gives permanent stat bonuses, and consuming Mammoth Tusks can infinitely boost your health. The longer a run goes, the stronger this class gets.

Gunslinger (400 Diamonds) packs serious firepower with enough ammo and gun perks to survive all the way to Day 99. A reliable, straightforward combat choice.

Vampire (350 Diamonds) starts with a Vampire Scythe for solid damage and a Vampire Cloak with lifesteal. Staying healthy through combat means less reliance on teammates for heals.

B Tier – Strong Support & Utility

Lumberjack (70 Diamonds) is the best budget pick in the game. Extra wood and saplings dramatically speed up base upgrades and campfire leveling — critical for team survival. Every group should have one.

Medic (40 Diamonds) revives teammates 5× faster and restores extra HP and hunger. In team runs, this class is practically mandatory. Cheap and invaluable.

Blacksmith (150 Diamonds) lets you craft items from the next crafting bench tier without upgrading first. Massive time saver for accessing powerful gear early.

Grenadier (300 Diamonds) starts with grenades and dynamite, and enemies drop extra explosives. Great crowd control — especially during mass cultist invasions. For more on surviving invasions, check out our 99 Nights in the Forest beginner tips guide.

Engineer deploys turrets using gears — solid passive defense, though requires resource management.

C Tier – Situational Picks

Ranger (100 Diamonds) offers a Revolver with a 10% ammo refund on every shot. Decent early-game combat but overshadowed by higher tiers. Scavenger (20 Diamonds) finds more loot and opens chests faster — handy early but scales poorly.

Cook (40 Diamonds) speeds food prep by 20%, helping team hunger management on long runs. Zookeeper (70 Diamonds) tames and heals animals faster — fun but niche. If you enjoy pet mechanics, read our Zookeeper class guide and animal taming guide. Beastmaster tames wolves but needs constant food — too resource-hungry for most situations.

D Tier – Skip These

Feaster (150 Diamonds) requires constant eating to maintain buffs that last only seconds. In team runs, a Feaster player drains campfire food, hurting everyone else’s survival. Not worth 150 Diamonds.

Gambler is completely unpredictable — it can upgrade or downgrade chests. The risk isn’t worth it when you could spend Diamonds on something reliable.

Fisherman helps with food but brings zero combat value. The Cook class does more for the team at the same price point.

How to Unlock Classes?

All classes are bought in the Classes Shop in the game lobby. Select your class, confirm the purchase with Diamonds or Robux, hit Equip, and you’re ready. Classes are permanently unlocked with no limits on how many you can own.
