Mutations in Steal An Egg are special pet variants that multiply a pet’s income and sell value on top of its size roll. The best mutation is Rainbow (3.5x), followed by Parasite (3x), while Silver and Bloom sit at the bottom under 1.3x. Mutated pets earn more Cash every second, sell for more, and make you a prime stealing target — so picking the right one matters. My tier list below ranks all mutations by multiplier, how reliably you can get them, and whether they’re worth farming in October 2026.
| Mutation | Multiplier | Tier | How to Get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rainbow | 3.5x | S | Random hatch, Fuse Machine |
| Parasite | 3x | S | Hungry Frog event |
| Enchanted | ~2.8x | A | Butterfly Bloom event |
| Fractured | 2.75x | A | Rift Boss consumable |
| Scrambled | 2.75x | A | Dr. Scramble event shop |
| Nitro | 2.75x | A | Nitro Race event shop |
| Golden | 2.5x | B | Random hatch, Fuse Machine |
| Spirit Bloom | 2.5x | B | Sakura Incubator |
| Bloom | 1.25x | C | Sakura Incubator |
| Silver | 1.2x | C | Random hatch |
I judged each mutation on three criteria: the income multiplier it adds, how reliably you can obtain it, and the grind or cost behind it. Your earnings are calculated as Base Value × Mutation × Size, so no mutation works alone — but anything at 2.75x or higher turns even a mid-tier pet into a money printer. Event multipliers shift with updates, and Update 6’s Dr. Scramble rework made Scrambled easier to stock up on. Note that several newer mutations only come from limited events, which is exactly why most tier lists skip them.
Rainbow (3.5x) is the king. It rolls on roughly 1 in 100 hatches, shows up as a shimmering animated shell, and can also appear from Fuse Machine merges. Parasite (3x) never hatches naturally — feed five Infested Eggs to the Hungry Frog during its event and hope for the 1.5% Parasite Egg drop. Both are the only mutations near 3x, and both are worth every minute of farming.
Enchanted (~2.8x) is the sleeper pick most players miss: its Enchanted Essence from the Butterfly Bloom event applies a mutation 100% of the time — no 10% gamble. Fractured comes from Rift Boss shop consumables, Scrambled from Dr. Scramble’s Experiment Shop using Samples, and Nitro from the Nitro Race trophy shop. All three consumables apply at a 10% chance each, so buy in bulk. The event-only Monstrous mutation (low chance from Monster Chests) is also worth grabbing when the Hungry Monster event rotates around.
Golden (2.5x) and Spirit Bloom (2.5x) are solid earners — Spirit Bloom drops from the Sakura Incubator once it’s fully charged with Sakura Crystals, and a higher charge shifts the odds away from plain Bloom. Bloom (1.25x) is the common Sakura result, and Silver (1.2x) is the most frequent hatch roll at 6 in 100. Take them happily on a hatch, but never grind specifically for either.
Rainbow at 3.5x is the best mutation, with Parasite (3x) a close second that’s easier to target during the Hungry Frog event.
Rainbow, at roughly a 1-in-100 hatch roll. Golden is 4-in-100 and Silver is 6-in-100.
Yes. Income = Base Value × Mutation × Size, so a heavy mutated pet always outearns a plain one of the same species.
Feed five Infested Eggs to the Hungry Frog; it has about a 1.5% chance to drop a Parasite Egg.
Fractured, Scrambled, and Nitro consumables each apply at 10% chance, while Enchanted Essence applies at 100%.
