The Glacial Fragment in Fisch is one of the more sought-after materials right now, needed for both the Lullaby Rod questline and Snowburrow bestiary completion. The tricky part? It’s locked inside a hidden sub-area that many players don’t even know how to access.
Here’s everything you need, location, how to unlock it, best rods, and all current uses.
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Fragment |
| Location | Snowburrow (Snowcap Island) |
| Resilience | 100 |
| Progress Speed Bonus | +10% |
| Season Preference | Winter |
| Bait Preference | Any |
Glacial Fragments are exclusive to Snowburrow, a secret sub-area hidden inside Snowcap Cave on Snowcap Island. You cannot find them anywhere else on the map — not in open waters, not on the surface of Snowcap Island.
Head to Snowcap Island and go inside the main cave. This is the entry point to reaching Snowburrow.
Once inside the cave, locate three cracked walls spread across the cave walls and ceiling. Click all three quickly — the hidden door to Snowburrow only stays open for about 30 seconds before closing again. Miss the window and you’ll need to start over.
Once inside Snowburrow, make your way to the lower corners of the area. There are fishing pools there where Glacial Fragments can appear. These are your only valid fishing spots for this material.
Because the Glacial Fragment falls under Fragment rarity, you’ll need a solid Luck stat to get it to appear consistently. Here are the top rod choices:
| Rod | Why It Works |
|---|---|
| No-Life Rod | High Luck stat, great for Fragment farming |
| Ethereal Prism Rod | Strong Luck, reliable all-rounder |
| Nate’s Blade | Good Luck, efficient for Snowburrow |
Any rod with strong Luck enchantments will also help. The good news — once you hook the Glacial Fragment, it’s actually easy to reel in. It moves slowly across the bar and carries a +10% Progress Speed bonus, so the real grind is just getting it to spawn.
Currently there are two confirmed uses for Glacial Fragments in Fisch:
You need one Glacial Fragment to complete the fifth quest in the Lullaby Rod questline. Since only one is required, most players can knock this out in a single session if their Luck is solid.
Snowburrow has 22 total fish and materials in its bestiary. The Glacial Fragment is one of the rarer required entries — you cannot skip it if you’re going for 100% Snowburrow completion.
Pro Tip: The rarest catch in Snowburrow is the Exotic White Sturgeon. Many players end up getting the Glacial Fragment naturally while hunting for it — so if you’re farming the White Sturgeon anyway, you’re also making progress toward the Fragment.
It sits around Legendary-tier in terms of spawn difficulty, making it fairly rare but not impossible. It’s definitely easier to obtain than the Exotic White Sturgeon, so most players shouldn’t need to grind for too long if they’re using Luck-boosted rods.

They only spawn inside Snowburrow, a hidden area accessed through Snowcap Cave on Snowcap Island. Fish in the lower corner pools for your best chance.
No — Glacial Fragments have no bait preference. However, they favor the Winter season, so timing your session during Winter weather gives you a slight edge.
You only need one for the Lullaby Rod quest. For the Snowburrow bestiary, catching it once is enough to register the entry.
Not at all. It has only 100 Resilience and gives a +10% Progress Speed bonus, making it one of the easier Fragment-tier catches to reel in once it appears.
Equip a high-Luck rod (No-Life Rod, Ethereal Prism Rod, or Nate’s Blade), enter Snowburrow during Winter season, and fish the lower corner pools. Since you only need one for the quest, most players finish quickly.
