Sprites have completely reshaped how I play Fortnite this season, and picking the wrong one can quietly cost you fights you should’ve won. I’ve tested every companion across dozens of matches to figure out which ones actually carry their weight in Chapter 7 Season 3. Here’s the quick breakdown before I get into the details:
| Tier | Sprites |
|---|---|
| S | Striker, Demon, Ghost, Zero Point |
| A | Earth, TheBurntPeanut, Fire, Fishy, Boss |
| B | Duck, Dream, King, Grim, Aura |
| C | Water, Punk |

Sprites are passive companions you find, extract, and summon using Sprite Dust. Each one grants a unique buff — shield regen, bonus loot, mobility, lifesteal — that scales up to Level 5. Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants keep the same ability but add extra perks like bonus XP or Sprite Dust on extraction, so always grab a special variant over a base one if you spot it.
These four are must-haves in any loadout. The Striker Sprite grants an Overdrive speed buff every time you Mantle, Hurdle, or Wall Scramble — incredible for fights and storm rotations alike, lasting up to 10 seconds at max level. The Demon Sprite siphons up to 30 effective HP per elimination, making it the top pick for aggressive players who stack kills. Zero Point Sprite spawns a Shield Bubble Jr. whenever you heal, letting you recover safely in the open for up to 10 seconds at Level 5. The Ghost Sprite grants a 5-second cloak on reload, perfect for breaking enemy tracking mid-fight.
Solid picks that shine in specific situations. Earth Sprite boosts your chance at rare chest loot by up to 20%, making it the best early-game companion before you swap it out. Fire Sprite triggers a damage burst once you’ve dealt enough damage — only 50 at max level — great for finishing fights. TheBurntPeanut offers a 60% chance at bonus loot on eliminations (10% Mythic chance), but it’s brutally rare to find. Fishy Sprite doubles your swim speed and boosts movement after taking damage, ideal for rotations. Boss Sprite flatly adds up to 25 HP and Shield, a guaranteed drop from Fortnite bosses.
These have fun gimmicks but leave you exposed. Dream Sprite eventually drops Legendary loot at max level but offers nothing for combat along the way. Duck Sprite heals shields when you emote, which only works when it’s safe to stand still. King Sprite boosts pickaxe damage to 120, rarely relevant since most fights are gunfights. Grim Sprite marks enemies who damage you but isn’t worth the Mythic-tier grind. Aura Sprite grants Shock Rock charges on damage dealt, redundant given how many mobility options already exist this season.
Skip these unless you’re a completionist. Water Sprite only heals your squad while standing in water, which is dead weight on most of the map. Punk Sprite does nothing below Level 4 and even then is a pure gamble — occasional infinite ammo isn’t worth chasing.
At the start of Chapter 7 Season 3, you choose between Earth, Fire, or Water as a starter. Earth is the safest all-around pick for consistent loot upgrades, Fire rewards aggressive players, and Water only pays off in full squads near water-heavy POIs.
The Striker Sprite is the strongest overall pick, with Demon and Zero Point close behind depending on your playstyle.
There are 16 total Sprites, including five added on June 25 — Fishy, Aura, Striker, Boss, and Grim.
No, Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants keep the same core ability but add bonus perks like extra XP or Sprite Dust.
Only in full squads playing near water — it’s largely dead weight solo or in dry zones.
