Picking the wrong fishing rod in Fisch can cost you hours of grinding. With 195+ rods now in the game after the Boreal Pines update, knowing which ones are actually worth your time and which to skip is critical. I’ve tested and ranked them all so you don’t have to.
Here’s a quick overview of what each tier means before we dive in:
| Tier | What It Means |
|---|---|
| S | Best-in-slot; overpowered stats and passives |
| A | Excellent for long-term farming and mid-game |
| B | Solid early-to-mid game options |
| C | Situational use only; swap out ASAP |
| D | Weak stats; niche early game use |
| E | Starter rods; replace immediately |
These are the most overpowered rods in the game. If you can get your hands on any of them, do it.
| Rod | Key Stats | How to Get |
|---|---|---|
| Fabulous Rod | Luck: 500%, Max Kg: ∞ | Special unlock |
| Wind Elemental | Lure: 555%, Luck: 555%, Resilience: 55% | Craft/Quest |
| Blade of Glorp | Luck: 888%, Max Kg: ∞ | Craft |
| Nate’s Blade | Lure: 119%, Luck: 444% | 200M C$ |
| Polaris Serenade | Luck: 400%, Resilience: 40% | 50M C$ |
| Seraphic Rod | Divine Judgement passive | Level 500 |
| No-Life Rod | Ghost Manifestation passive | Level cap |
| Poseidon’s Rod | Exceptional all-round | Craft |
| Dreambreaker | Lure: 120%, Resilience: 66% | Quest |
| Heaven’s Rod | Top-tier luck and weight | Craft |
My pick: The Fabulous Rod is currently the best cash-farming rod, while Wind Elemental dominates for general fishing speed. The Seraphic Rod is the gold standard if you can hit Level 500.
These rods will carry you deep into end-game. The Kraken Rod is a must for catching rare bestiary fish, while the Trident Rod is the most flexible A-tier pick for mid-game players. Zeus Rod and Auric Rod are your best bets for cash farming at this tier.
Standouts: Brick Rod (great for beginners transitioning), Celestial Rod (XP boosts), Voyager Rod, Mythical Rod, Aurora Rod.
The Volcanic Rod is the surprise hit here — its passive is excellent for its tier. Avalanche Rod is the best early-game step-up from Steady Rod with high control and resilience. Other solid picks: Nocturnal Rod (great for night fishing), Destiny Rod, Precision Rod, and Sunken Rod (best for Treasure Maps).
Most C-tier rods serve one specific purpose. Keep these in mind:
Don’t invest enchants into C-tier rods. Use them only when the task demands it.
D-tier rods like Fast Rod and Lucky Rod have one decent stat but fall flat overall. E-tier is your starter kit: Flimsy Rod, Plastic Rod, Carbon Rod, Stone Rod. Upgrade out of E-tier the moment you hit 2,000 C$.
Pro tip: The Carbon Rod is your best E-tier option — balanced stats and cheap at 2,000 C$ from the Moosewood Merchant. Move to Steady Rod next for near-infinite weight capacity.

| Goal | Best Rod |
|---|---|
| Cash farming | Fabulous Rod / Zeus Rod |
| Bestiary completion | Kraken Rod / Magnet Rod |
| Early game | Carbon Rod → Steady Rod |
| XP farming | Celestial Rod |
| Night fishing | Nocturnal Rod |
| Treasure Maps | Sunken Rod / Precision Rod |
| Speed fishing | Rapid Rod |
To maximize any rod’s potential, always pair with the right enchantment. Hasty offsets slow lure speed, Resilient improves rod stamina, and Abyssal/Subspace enchants boost earnings significantly. Check out my Fisch leveling guide for the full enchant strategy.
For the latest free rods and in-game rewards, always check active Fisch codes — developers occasionally drop limited-time rods through codes that can be meta-breaking.
The Fabulous Rod is the best for cash farming, while Wind Elemental leads for overall fishing speed. For free options, the Seraphic Rod (Level 500) and No-Life Rod are top-tier.
Start with the Carbon Rod (2,000 C$), then upgrade to the Steady Rod for better weight capacity and resilience in open-water fishing.
The Kraken Rod is ideal for catching rare fish. Use the Magnet Rod specifically when farming crates and bait.
There are currently 195 fishing rods in Fisch, with new ones added regularly through updates.
Use Hasty for slow rods, Resilient for tough fish fights, and Abyssal or Subspace for maximizing money earned per catch.
