To get the Black Fairy Rod in Fisch, talk to Draven in the Underground Music Venue, choose “I’ll help you find it,” then hand in six riddle answers. Five need specific mutations or the Shiny attribute, so I mapped every fish, bait, and rod below. It’s one of the hardest rods from the Venue Encore update, so I also planned the best order to finish them quickly. Here’s the full answer key. As of November 2026, later quest stages aren’t confirmed.

Fish Everturn Forest with Coral bait in any weather or time, ideally Autumn, though other seasons can work. For the Translucent mutation, use the Ghastly enchantment (100%) or Spiritbinder rod (90%). You can also roll it at the Appraiser.
Fish around Sunstone Island; no bait, weather, season, or time matters. The Appraiser can’t apply Mossy, so use the Elder Mossripper rod: 15% base chance, 100% when its passive triggers.
Head to Treasure Island in any weather or time, using Golden Shrimp Bait. Rotting can’t be appraised, so reel it in with the Splitbranch Twig rod (35% chance).
Catch a Depths Key by day at Vertigo’s Dip, or from a Strange Whirlpool with Magnet bait. Then take it to the Appraiser in Moosewood; a Shiny Surge boosts odds but isn’t required. Or stack Shiny luck with the Destiny Rod, Blessed/Glittered enchantments, or Rainbow weather.
This Exotic fish only appears in the Rotbloom Hunt pool in Toxic Grove during Autumn. Use Luminous Larva or Thorn Cluster bait, and bring the Thalassar’s Ruin rod, which applies Ocean’s Ruin 30% of the time.
Go east of Castaway Cliffs and find the sunken ship with the fishbone flag. Open the Fisch GPS and enter 883.1, 31.8, -1928.2 (XYZ) to find the plank.
Rotbloom is the bottleneck because of its Autumn-only pool, so I’d plan around it.
