To get the Record Breaker Rod in Fisch, talk to Tryce in the Underground Music Venue and finish three quests: Getting Started, Out of Tunes and World Tour. The rod arrives restricted after quest two, and World Tour removes the restriction. It was added in the Venue Encore update on October 31. I compared Beebom, Bloxodes, Of Zen and Computing and Rosenberry Rooms, all from November 1.
| Quest | Task | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Getting Started | 15 mutated catches plus 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment | Vinyl Bobber |
| Out of Tunes | 5 catches, 4 objectives | Restricted Record Breaker |
| World Tour | Fish Locked In for 120 seconds at 7 spots | Unrestricted rod |
Every mutation objective needs a specific rod, so you’ll want these in your bag:
A Destiny Rod or Chrysalis is an optional shortcut for the Bog Skulker. No guide lists a level requirement.
The venue is a hidden area in Crystal Cove (1302, -701, 1604). Beebom’s earlier guide opens it by placing a Chaotic Enchant Relic on the pedestal there. That guide is from 2025, so check it still applies to the Encore.
| Objective | Where | How |
|---|---|---|
| 5 Titanium Rusty Bolts | Mineshaft | Magnet bait, Titanium Rod (25%) |
| 5 Melody Iron Chunks | Mineshaft or Crab Cages | Stellarwave Melody (18.8%) |
| 5 Electrified Scrap Metal | Mineshaft, Depths, Crystal Cove, Collapsed Ruins, by day | Zeus’s Thundermaul with Electrified State on (90%) |
| 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment | Scoria Mines, Scoria Reach | Feed Crag-Crabs an Igneous Pearl (5% drop), then appraise |
The fragment isn’t a fish. Appraise it at Moosewood during a Shiny Surge until it rolls Shiny.
| Objective | Where | How |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Shiny Synth DJ Spinopus | Crystal Cove | Snare bait, clear spring or summer night, Stellarwave Melody (Synth 8.8%) |
| 1 Cracked Treble Bass | Moosewood | Magnet bait, Blazebringer’s Perfect Catch (5–10%), or the 67 Warriors event (16.7%) |
| 2 Phantom Speed Cores | Sunstone Island | Eidolon Rod (35%). They must be caught directly, so Crab Cages don’t count |
| 1 Shiny Sparkling Bog Skulker | Toxic Grove | Garbage bait in rainy autumn, then appraise at Moosewood |
Shiny and Sparkling never overwrite each other, so you can keep re-appraising one Bog Skulker until it has both.
First, earn the Locked In buff. While fishing with the rod, a vinyl disc appears:
Then fish for 120 seconds while Locked In at each of these:
The buff drops after 30 seconds without casting, so keep fishing and keep travel short.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Luck | 227% |
| Lure Speed | 70% |
| Control | 0.22 |
| Resilience | 27% |
| Max KG | Infinite |
| Disturbance | +2 |
The rod also adds the Rewind mutation to your catches. While Locked In, you gain +50% Luck, +30% Lure Speed and +25% fish weight. Nearby players get +25% Luck, +20% Lure Speed and +50% Starting Progress. That makes it a strong support rod in a group.
A code, TheVenueEncore, appeared in the patch notes. Event codes can expire, so check the official announcements.
Finish Tryce’s three quests in the Underground Music Venue. Quest two gives the restricted rod.
Complete World Tour by fishing Locked In for 120 seconds at seven locations.
Score 7 points in the vinyl-disc minigame while fishing with the rod.
No. Searches mix the names up, and the Venue Encore rod is the Record Breaker. The Dreambreaker is a different rod from the Cultist Lair.
