If you’re just starting out in Neverness to Everness and wondering who to pull for or who to skip entirely, you’ve come to the right place. With a roster full of S-class and A-class characters, it’s easy to waste your Annulith on the wrong units. I’ve put together this comprehensive Neverness to Everness tier list to help you make smarter decisions from day one.
This ranking is based on current NTE 1.0 meta, character kit analysis, community consensus, and endgame performance data from the global launch on April 29, 2026.
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| SS | Nanally, Jiuyuan |
| S | Sakiri, Chiz, Baicang, Haniel |
| A | Adler, Esper Zero, Daffodill, Hathor, Fadia, Lacrimosa, Hotori |
| B | Skia, Aurelia, Edgar |
| C | Mint |

These are the absolute best characters in NTE right now. If you can pull them, do it immediately — they will carry you through all launch content.
Nanally — S-Class | Anima | Plasma Arc | Main DPS, Follow-up
Nanally is the undisputed best character in Neverness to Everness at launch. Her kit revolves around a summoned Underboss that triggers automatic follow-up attacks every time your team hits an enemy, effectively doubling your damage output. She also has an anti-gravity mechanic allowing free movement on vertical surfaces, making her exceptional in exploration and combat alike. Stack ATK buffs from Sakiri and her damage output becomes overwhelming. She excels in both single-target boss damage and AoE mob clear — versatility that pushes her firmly to SS.
Jiuyuan — S-Class | Anima | Solid Arc | Burst DPS, Control
Jiuyuan is the strongest standard banner unit and the only other SS-tier character at NTE 1.0 launch. She marks enemies with her Lethal Rose Pact through attacks and skills, then detonates all marked targets with her ultimate for massive AoE burst damage. She also provides reliable crowd control, making her a great sub-DPS or main DPS in most team compositions. You can grab her from the S-class selector after your first 50 pulls — incredible value for a free pick.
Sakiri — S-Class | Incantation | Gas Arc | Buffer, CC
The best support in the game. Sakiri provides a teamwide ATK buff after using her Ultimate and a ton of crowd control from her normal skill. The standard rotation: swap to Sakiri → skill to group enemies → ultimate for the ATK buff → swap to main DPS for amplified damage. The better your DPS gear, the more value Sakiri provides. She belongs in virtually every team.
Chiz — S-Class | Incantation | Gas Arc | Main DPS
You receive Chiz completely free with all five awakening copies just by playing through the main story via City Tycoon — which may take a few weeks. Her Grain Market system ties damage to in-game timing, creating a high skill ceiling. When mastered, Chiz is a powerhouse DPS. The complexity is the only reason she isn’t SS.
Baicang — S-Class | Incantation | Synthesis Arc | DoT DPS
The strongest Damage-over-Time character in NTE. Baicang’s ultimate deals burst damage while stacking more DoT on enemies simultaneously. Skilled players report he can even out-damage Nanally in ideal conditions — but he requires precise mechanics and a proper team setup to reach that ceiling.
Haniel — A-Class | Psyche | Solid Arc | Buffer
Despite being A-class rarity, Haniel earns S-tier because of her sheer buffing efficiency. She swaps in, applies teamwide ATK buffs via Skill and Ultimate, then swaps out so your main DPS can maximize buffed field time. Easy to get, easy to build, and highly impactful in buff-centric compositions.
A-tier in NTE is notably crowded, and these characters form the backbone of most early rosters. Don’t treat them as consolation prizes.
| Character | Role | Why They’re Good |
|---|---|---|
| Adler | Shield + DoT Support | Provides easy teamwide shields, applies debuffs, and contributes Incantation DoT for reaction teams |
| Esper Zero (MC) | Reaction Driver | Fast Esper cycle reactions make her a natural core team member; female version is slightly better |
| Daffodill | Burst DPS / Break | Excels at destroying boss stagger bars; specializes in plunge attacks and break damage — essential for efficient boss clear |
| Hathor | Burst DPS | Strong AoE, unique furniture perk that passively generates equipment for your account; clunky but solid |
| Fadia | Damage Redirector | Redirects damage from allies to herself and back to enemies; with investment, makes teams near-invincible |
| Lacrimosa | Standard DPS | Stronger than expected at launch; shaping up to potentially challenge Daffodill’s position |
| Hotori | Synergy Carry | Very strong in a team built around her, but not plug-and-play; requires full commitment to shine |
Skia — Cool design, shadow-based attacks, but average damage output. His main niche is providing the Lana element, which isn’t especially impactful at launch. Free to obtain as A-class, so he’s usable early on without opportunity cost.
Aurelia — New character, limited testing at launch. Everyone gets a free copy on day three of logging in. Real strength still unknown — could rise in later rankings.
Edgar — The only dedicated healer in NTE, but both Adler and Fadia outperform him as sustain options with added offensive value. Edgar will likely be outclassed by future supports quickly. Only use him if you absolutely need raw healing.
Mint — The first free character you get via Esper Zero. Adequate for the early main story, but lacks utility, team synergy, and damage compared to virtually every other DPS. A passion pick at best — not worth investing resources.
| Team Type | Slot 1 (DPS) | Slot 2 (Sub-DPS) | Slot 3 (Support) | Slot 4 (Sustain) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best Overall | Nanally | Jiuyuan | Sakiri | Adler |
| DoT Team | Baicang | Daffodill | Haniel | Adler |
| F2P Friendly | Chiz | Esper Zero | Haniel | Adler |
| Budget Break Team | Daffodill | Esper Zero | Sakiri | Fadia |
Building a strong team in Neverness to Everness isn’t just about slotting in the highest-tier character — it’s about role balance. Here’s the simple framework I recommend:
Avoid investing in Mint and Edgar early on. With Annulith being a precious resource, every upgrade counts.
My rankings factor in:
Nanally is the best character in NTE 1.0. She delivers the highest raw damage output at launch with her follow-up attack system and summon mechanic, excelling in both boss fights and mob clearing.
No pulling needed, Chiz is completely free. You earn her and all five awakening copies by progressing through the City Tycoon system in the main story. She’s one of the strongest free units in the game.
Sakiri is the best support at launch. Her teamwide ATK buff after using her Ultimate pairs perfectly with any main DPS, and the value she provides scales as your gear improves.
Both are SS-tier. Jiuyuan is available on the standard S-class selector (after 50 pulls) — a free pick. Nanally is a limited banner unit with higher overall damage potential. Pull Nanally if you want the absolute best DPS; use your selector on Jiuyuan for excellent free value.
Yes. Tier lists in live-service gacha games evolve with every patch and new character release. New supports may boost previously mid-tier characters, and new DPS units could challenge Nanally’s dominance. Bookmark this page as I’ll keep it updated with each NTE update.
