Venom Spitter is the new Mythic-tier defense seed added to Grow a Garden 2 in the Aurora Event Update (1.01.0), released June 20, 2026. It costs 30,000,000 Sheckles from the Seed Shop and spits venom at intruders trying to steal your crops at night. Here’s everything you need to know before you spend your savings on it.

Venom Spitter is a carnivorous-looking plant with a jagged, stone-like maw that drips glowing yellow venom. Its produce is a pale-green leaf covered in bright purple veins and scattered bioluminescent specks β easy to spot in your plot even at night. Functionally, it’s a defensive crop: once planted, it occasionally spits greenish venom at a single player who tries to steal from your garden after dark, similar in role to the classic Venus Fly Trap but with a distinct animation and celestial-patterned design.

There are two routes:
Either way, you’ll also need 30,000,000 Sheckles ready if you’re going the free route. That’s a serious grind for most players, so building up your economy first with high-value Gold and Rainbow crops is the fastest path there β our Traveling Merchants guide covers extra ways to boost your Sheckle income between restocks.
For the price, Venom Spitter is a middle-of-the-pack defensive pick rather than an S-tier one. Its venom attack targets only one player at a time and isn’t as punishing as Dragon’s Breath, which locks onto thieves with continuous lava damage and forces them to drop Sheckles. Because Venom Spitter’s single-target hit is comparatively weak, most experienced players recommend planting several of them together to cover more ground rather than relying on one.
That said, it is a multi-harvest crop, meaning a single planted seed keeps producing fruit indefinitely without replanting β so even setting defense aside, it pays for itself over time through regular sales. Average fruit value currently sits around 3,430β3,800 Sheckles at roughly 8.5β9kg, which is respectable for a Mythic-tier plant that also protects your base.
| Plant | Ability | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Venom Spitter | Venom bolt vs. 1 target | 30M Sheckles |
| Dragon’s Breath | Locks on, drains HP + Sheckles | ~1,499 Robux (seed) |
Dragon’s Breath is generally considered the stronger single defensive plant, but Venom Spitter’s Sheckle-only price point makes it more accessible for free-to-play farmers who don’t want to spend Robux.
Since launch, some players have reported inconsistent stock β Venom Spitter occasionally shows as available without appearing in the actual shop, and Robux purchasing has had reported hiccups on certain servers. If you’re mid-game, it’s reasonable to wait a few days for these bugs to settle before spending real money on it. Rich or endgame players can safely grab one now just to test its behavior against your Sheckle economy, following the same logic our Royal Jelly Shard mutation guide uses for evaluating whether a new item is worth an early investment.
30,000,000 Sheckles from the Seed Shop, or 1,195 Robux when it’s in stock.
It spits venom at one nearby intruder at night, similar to how Dragon’s Breath and Venus Fly Trap defend a garden.
Yes β one planted seed can be harvested repeatedly without replanting, giving it steady long-term value.
Very rare β just a 0.475% (19/4,000) chance each 5-minute restock cycle.
Not quite. Dragon’s Breath deals continuous damage and drains Sheckles, while Venom Spitter is a single, weaker hit β better used in numbers.
