I ranked dinosaurs by production income, growth speed, riding value and rarity.

S-tier notes: T-Rex and Spinosaurus are Legendary and produce the most income. Raptor X is a boss tied to the Forgotten Shovel. Herrerasaurus needs a complete fossil set.

My advice is to skip Legendary eggs early. Fill your collection with C and D creatures while you upgrade your shovel.

Some sites list Bronze at 3,000 coins. Shop footage shows 2,500, so budget for that. Titanium also needs 20 Desert Topaz (Triassic rocks) and 20 Jungle Emerald (Jurassic rocks).

How to Get the Pacific Shovel?

1. Reach Level 30 and own the Titanium Shovel.
2. Find Kai the Tidekeeper behind Devonian Island. Bring a Mosasaurus Skull, 50 caught fish and 3 unhatched Dunkleosteus Eggs.
3. Jump into the Whirlpool to reach Panthalassa.
4. Give Yara 3 unhatched Sea Eggs and a Nessie Fragment. Then pay 350,000 coins.

How to Get the Forgotten Shovel?

You need a Titanium Shovel or better.

1. Talk to Dr. Ivy on Blackgate Isle, between Cambrian and Devonian.
2. Finish her three quests: 5 Raptor X Remnants (fished at 160 meters), 5 Lock Fragments (from the hourly Mosasaurus Boss) and 1 Albino Rex plus 3 Velociraptors. Fuse an adult T-Rex with an adult Velociraptor to make the Albino Rex.
3. Use the permanent Bonebound Key to spawn Raptor X. It has a 5-minute cooldown.
4. Deal at least 5% damage for an equal 1% shot at the shovel.

You can also join other players’ Raptor X fights to skip the key quests.

Best Shovel Upgrade Order

Go Wooden, Bronze, Silver, Iron, then Titanium. Add Pacific or Forgotten after that. Pick the shovel that matches the era you are digging, because shovels are period-locked.
