Mutations are the biggest income multiplier in Grow a Garden 2. Each one changes a crop’s appearance and applies a direct price multiplier when you sell it, and since a single crop can only hold one mutation at a time, picking and farming the right ones is everything. This tier list ranks all current GAG2 mutations by their value multipliers so you always know what to chase.
| Tier | Mutation | Multiplier | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Bloodlit | 80x | Unknown (TBA) |
| S | Electric | 70x | Lightning Event |
| A | Starstruck | 45x | Starfall Event |
| A | Rainbow | 30x | Random / Rainbow Weather |
| B | Frozen | 20x | Snowfall Event |
| B | Gold | 10x | Random / Midas Event / Golden Dragonfly |
| C | Solarflare | TBA | Unknown |
| C | Chained | TBA | Unknown |
| C | Pizza | TBA | Unknown |

Mutations apply a fixed price multiplier to a crop’s base Sheckle value when harvested. Unlike the original Grow a Garden, mutations do NOT stack in GAG2 — a crop holds exactly one mutation, and its final sell price is:
Base Value × Mutation Multiplier × Physical Size
This makes choosing the right mutation critical. A 70x Electric crop earns 7x more than a 10x Gold crop of the same base value.
Bloodlit — 80x Multiplier The highest confirmed multiplier in Grow a Garden 2 right now. Its acquisition method is still TBA, but it’s already confirmed in-game with an 80x boost. Once the source is revealed, this will be the top priority mutation to chase.
Electric — 70x Multiplier The most farmable S-tier mutation. It only triggers during the Lightning Storm weather event, which is active for a limited window. When one hits, drop everything — every ripe crop in your garden has a chance to become Electric. Stack as many ripe fruits as possible before the event hits.
Pro Tip: Stack sprinklers on your highest base-value crops before a Lightning event. More ripe crops = more chances at 70x.
Starstruck — 45x Multiplier Comes exclusively from the Starfall event, which is the rarest weather event in GAG2. A falling star must strike near your crops, and it’s still RNG-based even then. Because the event is rare, Starstruck mutations carry high trading value.
Rainbow — 30x Multiplier The best non-event mutation you can farm reliably. Rainbow has a small base chance to occur naturally as any crop grows, and the Unicorn pet doubles your Rainbow mutation rate. During Rainbow weather, the chance increases significantly. This is the go-to mutation for consistent income without waiting for events.
Frozen — 20x Multiplier Triggered during the Snowfall event. A solid mutation when you can get it, but you’re at the mercy of event timing. If a Snowfall event is live, prioritize harvesting Frozen crops before night raiders target them.
Gold — 10x Multiplier The most accessible mutation in the game. Gold naturally appears on crops randomly during normal gameplay, and the Golden Dragonfly pet directly applies it. Gold Seeds also spawn during the Midas Moon event, growing into fully Gold plants automatically. While 10x seems low, Gold mutations are reliable passive income between events.
Solarflare, Chained, Pizza These three have been confirmed in-game but their exact multipliers and acquisition methods are still officially undocumented. Based on positioning relative to other mutations, they’re expected to sit below Gold’s 10x. Avoid prioritizing them until more data is confirmed.
| Pet | Mutation Effect |
|---|---|
| Unicorn | 2x Rainbow mutation chance |
| Golden Dragonfly | Directly applies Gold mutation |
These are the only two pets in GAG2 that directly influence mutations. Both are worth prioritizing if you’re a farming-focused player. Check the Grow a Garden 2 Raccoon Pet Guide for the full pet overview.
Bloodlit (80x) has the highest multiplier, but Electric (70x) is currently the best farmable mutation since it comes from Lightning events, which are more frequent than Bloodlit’s unknown source.
No. Each crop holds exactly one mutation. The final sell value is: Base Price × Mutation Multiplier × Crop Size.
Rainbow can occur naturally at random during any crop’s growth cycle. Equipping a Unicorn pet doubles your Rainbow mutation chance. Rainbow weather events also boost the rate significantly.
Starfall is the rarest event, providing the Starstruck mutation (45x). Since it triggers infrequently, Starstruck crops have strong trading value.
No — one mutation per crop is the hard limit. During a Lightning event, focus on having as many ripe crops as possible rather than waiting for one crop to mutate multiple times.
