Zodiac Trials is Update 6’s new raid mode where you fight powerful Great Beasts. Open the Play menu, select Zodiac Trials, and a wheel decides which boss you face next. Every boss has a Posture Bar: parry attacks to drain it, and when it empties, the boss is stunned and takes double damage. My first runs failed because I spammed attacks — wait for the parry window, punish, then repeat to clear rooms safely. Clearing the raid earns the Frost Heron unit, two rare skins, a new title, and extra rewards.
Frost Heron is the limited Life unit everyone is grinding for, and it only drops from Zodiac Trials on Nightmare difficulty. The kit is pure ice pressure: Glacier Ambush leaves an ice field that shatters and launches enemies, Frostbite Rush loops you through targets with an ice explosion, and Skyfall Blade calls a blade down from the sky. The ultimate, Winter’s Requiem, forms a frost vortex that detonates and Awakens Heron for 25 seconds, swapping in Thousand Snowfall’s blink strikes and Frostflake Bloom’s fan sweep. In PvE, the four-hit basic combo protects you during the first half of each swing, so stay in melee range.
Artifacts are Update 6’s new gear system. Each unit equips up to four, and some only activate their bonus with a matching Potential Path, so check the game’s suggested Path before investing. You earn Artifacts from Story Trials and Zodiac Trials, then Refine rerolls stats you don’t want. Honestly, Auto Equip is the smartest new button — it assigns your best pieces in one click.
