The right units decide whether you clear a stage or watch your base crumble. I cross-checked the community wiki ranking and the current meta for this tier list. My verdict: Hamerucifer is the best unit overall β the strongest AoE damage in the game at a low placement cost β with Omega Dragon close behind on range and DPS. Below is the full S to C ranking, my team setup, and how to summon new units.
| Tier | Units |
|---|---|
| S | Hamerucifer, The Overlord, Omega Dragon, Second Trumpet Salt King, Legendary Leader (Path), Kung Fu Galaxy, TBOI (Rebirth) |
| A | Jeff (CEO), Octo The Greedy, Speedaholic (Enchanted), Buddha Chairman (Serious), Mysterious X (Final), + 22 more |
| B | Idol, The Almighty, Crimson Boar (True), Mr. Wax, + 8 more |
| C | Ganyu (Koku), Zero, Nightmare, + 27 more |
Top Down Games hasn’t released an official ranking, so I leaned on the community wiki list by the game’s Discord head moderator, cross-checked against the post-update meta. I judged each unit on damage, range, AoE, support value, cost, and performance across Story, Infinite, and raids.
All seven are damage dealers with one trade-off.
| Unit | Role | Placement Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hamerucifer | Best AoE damage | Low | Expensive upgrades |
| Omega Dragon | Best range and DPS | Low | Very hard to obtain |
| The Overlord | AoE and range | High | Endgame only |
| Second Trumpet Salt King | Passive DPS | Low | None notable |
| Legendary Leader (Path) | Scaling and nuke | Fairly low | Short range |
| Kung Fu Galaxy | Poison DoT | Low | Weak late scaling |
| TBOI (Rebirth) | Ranged AoE nuke | Moderate | Range barely grows |
Hamerucifer is the easiest carry β cheap to place, so it comes out early while your economy ramps up. Omega Dragon wins on raw numbers, but pulling it is the hard part. Second Trumpet Salt King is my value pick: cheap at every step, with an endgame-relevant passive. Kung Fu Galaxy’s poison tick makes it the pick for long Infinite runs. The Overlord and Legendary Leader (Path) shine late.
A tier is where the economy lives: Jeff (CEO) generates money every wave (one placement, can’t be sold), and Octo The Greedy stores cash for long runs. Speedaholic (Enchanted) is the best buffer: up to +300% allied damage and +20% range. Buddha Chairman (Serious) deals 25 billion map-wide damage once, then removes itself. Mysterious X (Final) stops enemies for eight seconds; its Final Domain Finisher freezes the whole map for 60.
B tier picks like Idol (+250% damage buff) fit the right setups but are rarely first choices. C tier is early-game filler β Ganyu (Koku), Zero, and Nightmare get outclassed by higher options.
Six units fit per loadout. My setup: Jeff (CEO) for income, Hamerucifer as the carry, Kung Fu Galaxy for poison pressure, Speedaholic (Enchanted) to buff everyone, Mysterious X (Final) for crowd control, and a flex slot β Squad 7 Commander or Mochi (Awakening). Place your money unit first, carry second, and save the nuke for boss waves.
Summoning works like most Roblox gacha systems β the same banner loop I covered in my Anime Zero items list:
Banners cost Gems or Stardust depending on the unit β save Stardust for limited-time picks.
Hamerucifer β best AoE damage in the game at a low placement cost. Omega Dragon beats it on range and DPS but is far harder to obtain.
Jeff (CEO) and Octo The Greedy β Jeff adds money every wave, while Octo stores it for long runs.
Six in your primary loadout once all team slots are unlocked.
No. ASTD X is a separate Roblox game with its own roster, meta, and codes.
