Plundarrgh is the Mythic treasure-hunting Sprite every Fortnite player is chasing in November 2026. You can get the Plundarrgh Sprite in Fortnite by opening Treasure Chests, completing Wanted Posters, or using the Lucky Locator Gizmo β then extracting it after a match to bank it in your collection permanently. Shaped like a giant skull crusted with doubloons, it loots chests faster than anything else in Treasure Hunters. I’ve grinded it since launch on Crossbones Isle, and here’s the fastest route I’ve found.
| Quick Facts | Details |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Mythic (second-rarest after Sweet Dreams) |
| Best method | Lucky Locator Gizmo |
| Power | Pickaxe + movement speed boost on chest open |
| Hot spots | Cursed Cavern, The Chest, Plunder Port |
| Variants | Fortune (live), Cursed & Gold (upcoming) |
Plundarrgh arrived with the Treasure Hunters mini-season on November 1, and you can’t buy it with V-Bucks β it’s pure match loot. Here are all four methods, ranked by how I’d spend my grind time.
Any Treasure Chest on Crossbones Isle can cough up Plundarrgh, but Mythic odds are brutal β roughly 0.495% at best and as low as 0.005% on some rolls. Hit every chest you pass, and prioritize the ruby-red chests, which hand out the Fortune variants.
This is my most reliable farm:
The Sprite inside is random, but repeated runs stack your odds fast. Pro tip: run the Exmarks Sprite while farming β it reveals nearby Wanted Posters and Treasure Maps on your map, turning this into an automated loop.
The Lucky Locator digs up a buried chest that always contains a Sprite you’re still missing, which makes it the single best tool for finishing a Mythic hunt like Plundarrgh. You earn them on the Sprite Mastery rewards track, so master cheaper Sprites first and spend every Locator on Plundarrgh.
Sprites can be traded with friends and teammates. r/AllFortnite traders swap spares constantly β offering a rare Lil’ Flacko gets bites.
Cursed Cavern is my go-to because it’s stuffed with Treasure Chests. The Chest POI has arguably the best loot density, but it’s a hot drop β expect instant fights. Loot Lagoon and Plunder Port round out my loop; Epic confirms Plunder Port’s two docked ships are worth clearing out. Time your grind around Treasure Hours Sundays and Mastery Mondays for boosted Sprite drops.
Plundarrgh boosts your pickaxe and movement speed every time you open a chest, so you can chain buried chests back-to-back without slowing down β each open refreshes the burst. Stack it with squadmates running the same Sprite and your crew out-loots everyone on the island. Here’s every variant as of update 43.00:
| Variant | Power | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Plundarrgh | Pickaxe + move speed on chest open | Live now |
| Fortune Plundarrgh | Base power + reveals nearby chests | Live now |
| Cursed Plundarrgh | Better rare-variant odds, but water damages you | Expected Nov 7 |
| Gold Plundarrgh | Bonus elimination XP | Later in November |

Note: Cursed’s water weakness mirrors the Gum-Gum Fruit β stick to dry land.
Extraction is everything. Extract at an Extraction Site, with a Portable Extractor, or by winning the match, and Plundarrgh is yours forever. Die first and you lose it β your killer can pick it up. XP is shared across the squad: 75 per container opened, 100 per knockdown, 200 per elimination. You need 450 XP for Level 2 and 4,250 for Level 5; mastering Sprites pays milestone rewards like extra Lucky Locators.
It grants increased pickaxe and movement speed whenever you open a chest. The Fortune variant also reveals nearby chests.
It’s Mythic rarity β second only to Sweet Dreams β with chest drop odds that dip as low as 0.005%.
Yes. Unless you extract it before dying, it drops for your killer. Extracted Sprites are permanent.
Sweet Dreams. Plundarrgh sits just behind it, which is why the Lucky Locator is worth saving.
