Vaults are the best loot source in Fortnite’s Treasure Hunters mini-season — every one hides three Treasure Chests and a guaranteed Sprite Chest, making them the most reliable way to bag Legendary Sprites and the Pirate Shop Access Token in 2026. I’ve dropped into every corner of Crossbones Isle and marked all nine vault locations for you below. One Rare Vault Key opens any vault, but keys are pure RNG, so here’s where every vault hides and how to get keyed up before your rivals arrive.

.. Rocky yacht is the only exception. Once you’re holding a key, your map automatically marks the nearest vault for you. Here are all nine spots I’ve confirmed this season:

Keys drop from any chest, so chest density decides how quickly you’re armed. I land at Loot Lagoon or Plunder Port — each has seven guaranteed chest spawns clustered together — then rotate out with whatever I find. Two Sprites tilt the odds in your favor: Chester grants bonus loot from chests, and leveling Sweet Dreams can drop a key outright.
Eliminated players drop their keys too, so third-partying a vault runner pays off — and if the circle collapses toward a vault, just camp it and let keyholders come to you. Since one key opens any vault, don’t tunnel-vision on the marked one — pick whichever vault your lobby is ignoring. Free NPC rifts this season make those rotations nearly instant.
Interact with the vault door and it swings open. Inside you’ll find three rare Treasure Chests and a Sprite Chest — my last clear handed me a Legendary Sprite and two meta weapons. The Treasure Chests stock the season’s new pirate weapons, so one clean vault can arm your whole squad. Vaults are also among the best sources of the Pirate Shop Access Token, your ticket to free Item Shop items, which is exactly why contested vaults turn into warzones. Loot fast, heal up, and rotate out — key carriers attract third parties, and a perfect vault clear is wasted if you get eliminated carrying it all.
If you can’t find a key, the community’s unpatched workaround still works: throw an Explosive Cannonball at a vault’s corner and the blast destroys the chests inside — the rewards still pop out, including a shot at the Pirate Token. Luffy’s Gum-Gum Battleaxe clips through the wall the same way, and slamming a Shockwave Grenade against the door breaks chests too. You never step inside, but the loot comes to you. It’s RNG either way, yet it beats searching half the island for a key.
