If you’re looking for the best offensive pet in Grow a Garden 2, the Raccoon is it. This Super-rarity companion does two things most pets can’t, it automatically steals fruit for you at night and permanently boosts your steal limit. I’ve broken down everything you need to know: abilities, how to get it, its size variants, and the best strategies to maximize its value.
| Stat | Details |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Super |
| Map Spawn Price | 15,000,000 Sheckles |
| Robux Price | 360 Robux (1x) |
| Spawn Chance | 0.24% |
| Also Available Via | Common Egg (Guild Events) |
| Steal Limit Bonus | +25 (stacks per pet) |
The Raccoon has two separate passive abilities that both activate during the nighttime phase:
These two effects together make the Raccoon the most powerful income and aggression pet in the current meta. Other pets do one thing — the Raccoon does two, and both directly generate Sheckles.
Note: The Raccoon only steals from empty gardens (owners not present). If a player is inside their garden, it becomes locked and the Raccoon cannot enter. Also, it cannot steal if your own fruit inventory is full.
The Raccoon has three size variants, each upgrading the steal limit bonus:
| Variant | Steal Limit Bonus |
|---|---|
| Raccoon (Normal) | +25 |
| Big Raccoon | +50 |
| Huge Raccoon | +75 |
Stacking multiple Raccoons also stacks their +25 steal limit bonuses, making multiple copies extremely valuable for serious thieves.

There are three ways to obtain the Raccoon:
1. Map Spawn (Primary Method) The Raccoon randomly spawns on the map with a 0.24% spawn chance — extremely rare. When one appears, a countdown timer floats above it. Walk up to it quickly and pay 15,000,000 Sheckles before the timer expires or another player outbids you. If another player offers more Sheckles, the pet switches to them, so don’t hesitate.
2. Robux Purchase Buy it directly from the shop:
3. Common Egg (Guild Events) Eggs are obtainable through Guild events. Hatch a Common Egg for a chance at the Raccoon.
The strongest night-stealing setup right now is Raccoon + Bunny. Here’s why it works so well:
When the night phase hits (2.5 minutes), you sprint through the map, manually grab high-value mutated crops, and the Raccoon runs its auto-steal in parallel. With a Speed Mushroom from the gear shop added to this combo, you become nearly uncatchable.
Target Priority for Manual Stealing:
If you’re on the defensive side, here are ways to counter Raccoon users:
The Raccoon costs 15,000,000 Sheckles when it spawns on the map, or 360 Robux from the shop. It can also hatch from a Common Egg obtained via Guild events.
This is not yet officially confirmed. The Raccoon auto-steals during night cycles, but whether it operates while its owner is fully offline is still undocumented.
Yes. Each additional Raccoon adds another +25 to your steal limit (+50 for Big, +75 for Huge). Multiple Raccoons also trigger multiple auto-steals at night.
Raccoon + Bunny is the strongest offensive setup. The Bunny’s stacking speed boost makes you uncatchable during night steals, while the Raccoon auto-steals and raises your limit simultaneously.
In the original Grow a Garden, the Raccoon was Divine rarity and duplicated crops rather than stealing them, which caused economy issues. In GAG2, it is Super rarity and uses a proper steal mechanic — crops are genuinely taken from the target garden.
