The Malevolent Key in Sailor Piece is one of those items that gates your entire endgame progression. You need it to summon the Strongest in History boss, which in turn, drops materials for Ascension rank 7 and unlocking Sukuna V2. If you’re stuck wondering where to farm it, I’ve got you covered with both methods and tips to speed up the grind.
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Item Type | Misc / Boss Drop |
| Drop Source | Cursed King (Sukuna) / Curse Enemies |
| Drop Rate (Sukuna) | ~30% per kill |
| Location | Shibuya Station / Shinjuku Island |
| Main Use | Summon Strongest in History boss |
There are two confirmed methods to obtain Malevolent Keys. One gives a guaranteed burst, the other is great for passive grinding.
This is your most efficient route. Head to Shibuya Station on the Sailor Piece map and find the Cursed King (Sukuna) world boss. He has approximately 5M HP and respawns on a 5-minute timer after being defeated.
Each kill has around a 30% drop rate for the Malevolent Key. He’s tagged as an easy-to-mid level boss, so a Gryphon sword or any similar-tier blade will handle him cleanly, provided your damage build is in good shape.
Pro Tip: Don’t wait for the respawn timer. Server-hop to find a fresh spawn and kill him immediately. Most players collect the key within 3β5 kills this way.
Head to Shinjuku Island and target the Curse enemies located to the left of the portal. These mobs drop Malevolent Keys at a lower rate than Sukuna but are perfect for AFK and semi-AFK farming.
Equip an AoE damage sword or a strong melee fighting style and clear groups of Curse enemies in one rotation. Since there’s no spawn timer to manage, you can loop this endlessly.
Getting keys consistently comes down to your build and approach. Here’s what actually helps:
Once you have keys, go to Shinjuku Island and find the Strongest Boss Summoner NPC near the portal area. Hold E to interact and you’ll see two boss options:
The number of keys required scales with difficulty. Normal difficulty costs 1 key, and each higher difficulty tier adds 1 more.
Defeating the Strongest in History gives you a shot at Cursed Flesh β a rare material needed for Ascension Level 7. It also drops components required to unlock Sukuna V2, making this one of the most important late-game boss fights.
The Malevolent Key drops at roughly 30% from the Cursed King (Sukuna) boss at Shibuya Station. Curse enemies on Shinjuku Island also drop it but at a lower rate.
Server-hop to find Sukuna alive at Shibuya Station and kill him repeatedly. Most players get a key within 3β5 kills. Alternatively, AFK farm Curse enemies on Shinjuku Island with a high-Luck, AoE build.
It is used to summon The Strongest in History boss on Shinjuku Island. Defeating him drops Cursed Flesh (needed for Ascension Level 7) and materials for unlocking Sukuna V2.
Yes. The Malevolent Key has a low trading value of 1 and low market demand, so it’s rarely worth trading. Farming it directly is the faster option.
Yes. Boosting your Luck stat through titles, clans, Ascension levels, and runes can improve drop rates from Curse enemies on Shinjuku Island. For Sukuna, server-hopping is the more reliable speedup.
