The Plaguereaver Rod is the most powerful rod from Fisch’s Lost Jungle expansion β and the hardest to get. To unlock it, you must complete the full Plagued Reaper questline inside the Toxic Cave, catch four rare fish across multiple events, and pay 13.7 million C$ to the NPC. Here’s a quick summary:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Location | Toxic Cave, Lost Jungle |
| Prerequisite | Gas Mask (75,000 C$) |
| Quest Stages | 4 |
| Final Cost | 13,700,000 C$ |
| Key Passive | +75% Progress Speed + Plagued Mutation |
Buy the Gas Mask for 75,000 C$ at the Lost Jungle entrance β without it, the ambient smog kills you instantly. Enter the Toxic Cave and find the Plagued Reaper NPC to begin the questline.
Wait for a Toxic Boil event β these spawn randomly but appear more frequently at night. Look for purple water bursts to identify the zone. Equip the Decayed Rod (sold inside the Toxic Cave). This rod is mandatory β only it can apply the Decayed mutation to the Venom Maw.
Travel to the Toxic Grove and cast using Coal bait. The Blight Idol is secret rarity, so luck bonuses don’t apply at all. This stage is pure RNG β keep fishing until it appears. No shortcuts here.
Hand the Blight Idol to the NPC. Now interact with mushrooms in the Toxic Grove well area to trigger a Rotbloom spawn. Use the Toxinburst Rod, Aurora totem, Luck potion, and Luminous Larva bait to land the Noxious mutation variant faster.
Pro Tip: Use Sundial totems to speed up hunt event timings. Server-hop to find active Rotbloom events without waiting.
Spawn a Rotbloom β but don’t catch it. Instead, activate the Blight Idol to summon the Witherbloom (secret rarity). Luck is useless here too. Focus on executing a perfect catch with your strongest rod. After that, return to the Plagued Reaper NPC and pay 13,700,000 C$ for the rod.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 15% |
| Luck | 175% |
| Control | 0.4 |
| Resilience | 0% |
| Max Kg | Infinite |
| Progress Speed | +75% |
| Disturbance | +5 |
| Hunt Focus | Rotbloom Hunt (+5) |
The rod’s biggest flaw is its 15% base Lure Speed β enchants are non-negotiable to fix this.
| Enchant | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Hasty | +55% Lure Speed β neutralizes the rod’s worst stat |
| Mystical | +25% Luck, +45% Resilience, +15% Lure Speed, +10% Progress Speed |
| Insight | Γ1.5 XP, +30% Lure Speed, 30% Purified chance |
| Tryhard | +30% Progress Speed, -0.1 Control |
Start with Hasty to fix the lure problem, then chase Mystical as your ideal god-roll for endgame fishing.

Buy the Gas Mask (75,000 C$), enter the Toxic Cave in the Lost Jungle, and speak to the Plagued Reaper NPC to trigger the four-stage questline.
No. Both are secret-rarity catches β luck bonuses have zero effect. Persistence wins the Blight Idol; a clean perfect catch wins the Witherbloom.
You must equip the Decayed Rod sold in the Toxic Cave. Only this rod applies the Decayed mutation to the Venom Maw β a mandatory purchase before advancing.
Absolutely β for endgame players. The +75% Progress Speed, infinite Max Kg, and exclusive Plagued mutation passive make it one of the fastest and most powerful rods in Fisch.
Hasty (+55% Lure Speed) fixes its biggest weakness, while Mystical provides the best all-around buff for competitive endgame play.
